Creative Arts includes teaching and learning in the art forms of Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance. It provides opportunities for students to explore how people are involved in making, performing and appreciating in each of the art forms and to think about these roles in their own creative activity.
At St Michael’s, we believe that an education in and through the four domains of the arts provides students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to participate, not only as future professional practitioners, but also as a critical audience, able to access a range of cultural forms.
The staff at St Michael’s acknowledges that each art form provides for personal expression and enjoyment, creative action, imaginative and emotional response, aesthetic understandings and the creation of shared meanings. Through planning and programming, we will ensure that each student has a balanced program made up of the four distinct art forms.
